בשנים האחרונות גוברת תופעת שימור המורשת התעשייתית ברמה העולמית לאור ההכרה בערכם התרבותי, אדריכלי, קהילתי אורבני ותיירותי של אתרים אלה כחלק מתפיסת תכנון ברת קיימא

…מבנים שכאלה: מבני מפעלים, מתקנים חקלאיים, מבני תעשייה בטחונית, מבני תחבורה( תחנות רכבת, שדות תעופה, טרמינלים ומחסני נמל) מחצבות, בתי קולנוע, מוסדות תרבות ופנאי, תחנות שידור ועוד

.מבנים ואתרים אלה שסיימו את תפקידם המקורי, זוכים לשימוש מחודש

לאור הצלחות עבר בקיום כנסים וירטואליים בינלאומיים וניסיון שצברנו בשימוש בטכנולוגיות חדישות שנערכו על גבי פלטפורמה וירטואלית ייחודית, החלטנו לקיים כנס זה על גבי הפלטפורמה שאף זיכתה אותנו בפרס בינלאומי בתחום. במסגרת אותם כנסים, לקחו חלק מאות רבות של משתתפים, עשרות דוברים, מומחים ומרצים מהארץ ומהעולם
